App Lock (Passcode & Face ID)

App Lock helps protect Oten Pass on your device by requiring a passcode or Face ID to unlock the app.

1. Set up App Lock

Turn on passcode

  1. Go to Profile

  2. Select Face ID / Passcode

  3. Tap Turn passcode on

  4. Enter a 6-digit passcode

  5. Re-enter the passcode to confirm

👉 You will see: “Passcode turned on successfully”

Enable Face ID

  1. Go to Passcode lock

  2. Turn on Unlock with Face ID

👉 You can now unlock the app using Face ID instead of entering your passcode

Set auto-lock timing

Auto-lock controls when the app locks after inactivity.

  1. Go to Passcode lock

  2. Tap Auto lock

  3. Choose one option:

    • Immediately

    • If away for 1 min

    • If away for 5 min

    • If away for 15 min

    • If away for 1 hour


2. Manage your passcode

Change passcode

  1. Go to Passcode lock

  2. Tap Change passcode

  3. Enter a new 6-digit passcode

  4. Re-enter to confirm

👉 You will see: “Passcode changed successfully”

Turn off passcode

  1. Go to Passcode lock

  2. Tap Turn passcode off

  3. Confirm the action

⚠️ Turning off passcode will reduce app security


3. Unlock the app

When reopening Oten Pass after inactivity:

  • The app will try Face ID first (if enabled)

  • If Face ID fails, you can:

    • Tap Try Face ID Again, or

    • Enter your passcode


4. Forgot passcode

Reset your passcode

If you forgot your passcode and cannot unlock the app:

  1. On the Passcode screen, tap Log out

  2. Sign in to your account again

  3. After successful sign-in:

    • Your passcode will be automatically reset

    • App lock will be turned off

  4. Set a new passcode when prompted

When should I use this?

  • Face ID does not recognize you

  • You cannot remember your passcode

  • You cannot unlock the app

⚠️ Important

  • Logging out will remove your current app lock (passcode & Face ID)

  • You must sign in again to access the app

  • You should set a new passcode immediately after signing in


5. Troubleshooting

Face ID is not recognized

  • Tap Try Face ID Again

  • Make sure:

    • Your face is clearly visible

    • Lighting is sufficient

  • Or enter your passcode

I cancelled Face ID

  • Enter your passcode manually

  • Or tap Sign in with Face ID to retry

App locks too quickly

  • Adjust the Auto lock setting

I cannot unlock the app at all

  • Tap Log out on the passcode screen

  • Sign in again to reset access


6. Important notes

  • You must set a passcode before enabling Face ID

  • Turning off passcode will disable Face ID

  • App Lock only protects access to Oten Pass on your device (not your account globally)
