macOS & Finder tips

Oten Drive lives in Finder, so most of what you do is ordinary Mac muscle memory. A few things worth knowing:

Finder context menu

  • Right-click a Drive item or vault for a streamlined context menu with consistent submenus.

  • Lock vault directly from the context menu — no need to open the main app.

  • Share vault in place from the context menu; Drive files/folders can be shared from here too.

Opening files

  • Double-click a file in Drive to open it in Finder; double-click a vault record to open it as expected. CD folders and My Drive open on double-click.

Browsing large drives

  • Use Load more to page through accounts with many files and folders instead of loading everything at once.

Appearance & language

  • Switch between Dark Mode and Light Mode to match your system.

  • The app ships in 6 languages — English, Vietnamese, Spanish, French, German, and Chinese.

Staying current & diagnostics

  • Updates arrive via Sparkle: choose Install new version or Remind me later (some updates are enforced). If in-app update fails, it falls back to the traditional flow.

  • Export Log to File produces a diagnostics file you can attach to a bug report.

Safety reflexes

  • Panic and Ghost Exit are your fast exits — set up Panic Settings in advance.

  • Workspace switching asks for confirmation and locks all unlocked vaults immediately on confirm.
